You will become part of Whalebone’s global Threat Intelligence (TI) team, working at the intersection of regional expertise and centralized intelligence operations. The mission of the team is to identify, analyze, and contextualize real-world cyber threats so that our products, customers, and go-to-market teams always stay one step ahead of attackers.


As a Senior Regional Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will deliver deep local insight into APAC threats, working closely with the HQ TI team in Brno and regional customer-facing teams. Your intelligence will directly shape product improvements, pre-sales impact, and customer trust in your region.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality regional threat intelligence by continuously researching local cyber threats, threat actors, and attack techniques.
  • Collect, analyze, and contextualize data related to DNS threats, fraud campaigns, identity abuse, and malicious traffic patterns within your region.
  • Identify gaps in regional threat coverage and proactively propose improvements, including new threat models, actor profiles, and detection logic.
  • Support pre-sales activities by providing region-specific insights, participating in customer calls, and acting as a trusted local intelligence expert.
  • Ensure local threats are accurately reflected during customer onboarding and product launch phases.
  • Provide ongoing operational support to customers, including traffic analysis, false-positive investigation, and response to regional incidents.
  • Share intelligence findings internally with global TI colleagues and externally when appropriate (reports, blog posts, briefings).


Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in threat intelligence, cybersecurity, cyber intelligence or a related field.
  • Strong OSINT skills and a solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, ideally with exposure to DNS security.
  • Proven ability to analyze and clearly communicate intelligence findings in both written and verbal form.
  • Experience working with data analysis, traffic analysis or SIEM outputs.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global and regional stakeholders.
  • Master’s degree in cybersecurity, intelligence studies or equivalent practical experience.


Nice to have

  • Experience in a private intelligence or cybersecurity company.
  • Basic Python scripting or automation skills.
  • Familiarity with SQL queries and version control (GitHub).
  • Knowledge of regional regulatory or telecom environments in APAC.



    Contract-based position (Freelance / B2B)

This position is offered exclusively on a contract basis (freelance / B2B), not as a traditional employment relationship.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • will collaborate with us as independent contractors and invoice for their services on a regular basis
  • are responsible for managing their own taxes, social security, and statutory contributions in accordance with local regulations
  • acknowledge that the role does not include standard employment benefits (such as paid leave, bonuses, or insurance)
  • use their own equipment; the agreed fee is expected to cover work-related costs such as a laptop, phone, and internet access
  • prefer remote collaboration with flexibility in how they organize their work, while committing to agreed deliverables and collaboration hours
