We’re looking for a Director of Government Relations & Strategic Closing to lead the final and most critical phase of large-scale government cybersecurity deals - from post-POC momentum to national-level adoption and tender wins.

This is a senior role for someone who understands how governments operate and can work with Ministries, PMO offices, and national cybersecurity stakeholders to turn proven solutions into funded national programs.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of post-POC government opportunities, driving them toward national-level approval, planning, and budgeting
  • Engage with Ministries, PMO offices, and national cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure projects are officially planned and funded within national programs
  • Lead the end-to-end public tender and RFP strategy and execution, aiming for multi-million EUR outcomes
  • Work closely with CERT-level advocates and internal experts to align technical credibility with political, budgetary, and procurement realities
  • Build and continuously improve sales processes, authority-mapping tools, and strategic closing playbooks for global scalability
  • Map political and institutional ecosystems: understand decision-makers, budget owners, influencers, competing vendors, and external pressures
  • Collaborate with Technical Consultants, Product, Threat Intelligence, Marketing, and Legal teams to deliver accurate, compelling, and compliant proposals

 

Requirements

  • Proven track record in complex, high-value sales (Enterprise, Telco, or Public Sector), ideally involving multi-stakeholder and multi-country decision-making
  • Strong experience engaging and influencing C-level executives, senior government officials, or ministry-level stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with public tenders, large-scale RFPs, or government procurement processes, including leading bid strategy end to end
  • Solid background in business development or strategic sales, preferably in regulated or mission-critical environments
  • Strong proposal writing and contract negotiation skills, with the ability to translate technical value into executive-level and political narratives
  • Experience working with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) to manage pipelines and forecasting
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset - comfortable building processes, tools, and authority maps from scratch rather than following a corporate playbook
  • Excellent communication skills, cultural adaptability, and high personal resilience
  • Willingness to travel 50%+ internationally for face-to-face negotiations and relationship building

  • Background in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, or national IT programs
  • Experience navigating politically complex or highly regulated environments
